Crayon Monogram

We are in the process of finishing off our basement. It has been a 3 year process thus far and probably will end up being 4 years before we finish it completely. But it has been nice to finish as we could afford it. I will dig for some progress pictures to post soon. But, the drywall is being done as I type and just the very idea of walls gets me excited. One of the rooms is going to be a playroom which we are ecstatic about since toys have overtaken our house in a ridiculous manner. So, all of the toys will be making there way down stairs to their new home in a hopefully fun and functional play space. Above is the picture of the palette that I am thinking about. I have seen these crayon monograms around blogland being used as teacher gifts but I thought they would make great for our playroom, so I made one for each kid with their first initial. So fun to think about using these fun fabrics that I have been hoarding with no purpose!

Recycled Crayons

Another snow day here so it meant another craft for the princess and I. So, we tackled her art supplies and took out all of the broken crayons to recycle them into new swirly crayons.

Break up crayons and put them in a muffin tin (our mini one was perfect for this)

Bake at 275 degrees for 5 minutes

Take a tooth pick to swirl to the colors (not too much or it will all turn one color)

Pop it in the freezer to cool and they will pop right out.

Surprisingly not as messy as you would expect and a totally free and quick craft for you to do with your kiddos.
