Dear Hubby,

It is the morning after and although I am still upset by the events of last evening, I am going to forgive you. I don’t know how could you torture me like that and then to expect me to have no response and to get over it immediately? But, after many thoughts today about this humiliating experience I have come to the conclusion that we should never play Monopoly again. It is apparent that my competitve nature can not withstand such a whooping on this formerly beloved board game. I am hanging up my thimble for real this time. We must find a new game that doesn’t bring out the hostile competitor in me.

Sincerlely,

Your wife :)

Oh the advent calendar envy that I have had lately. There has been some amazingly creative designs all over blogland! Even though I am a few days late in getting mine completed I knew I had to make one as well. I saw this design and was totally inspired! I loved the idea of the wreath idea and wanted to do something similar. I wrapped a styrofoam wreath with ivory ribbon and picked up watch tins at the craft store and then added some sparkle berries and evergreen and I was done! I really love the way it turned out!

This is also the first week where they have predicted snow for us. I had Alaina try on her snow suit last night and I have never seen her ham it up like this before. Here is my silly girl hoping for snow!

and last but not least my favorite…..

She is such a hoot!

The princess went to Tennessee with her grandparents last weekend to celebrate thanksgiving with her great grandparents. They live in Pigeon Forge so you have to go through miles of outlet and specialty stores to get to their home. My dad’s favorite shop is a Christian book outlet and I am pretty sure he feels an obligation to keep them in business since he visits there on his way in and out of town and comes home with bags full of books. This trip was so exception and he bought the princess a new childrens Bible. She was so excited to show it to me when she got home last night and put it in a safe place before she went to bed. The first thing she did when she woke up was grabbed her Bible and jumped on the couch and we had this conversation.

Lainey: Mommy, I am reading my Bible!

Mommy: That is great, Baby! Is that a new Bible?

Lainey: Yes, Yes!

Mommy: Who gave you a new Bible?

Lainey: I got it from my Papa!

Mommy: That was nice of Papa!

Lainey: Oh yes, my Papa is real nice and real fine!

I couldnt control my giggles after the real nice and real fine! She was so cute and so sincere. It sounded straight out of Mayberry in a repeat of the Andy Griffeth show! The southern drawl she used made it even sweeter. She doesn’t have a southern accent but a weekend in Tennessee brought out a sweet little twang in her words.

One week until the season premier of The Office. I am so in love with this show! My husband and I just bought the third season and have been rewatching the episodes to gear up for season 4! We were at Target a few nights ago and in the dollar section they had a whole section of “The Office” products. We were the only silly people there who were dying laughing at the “worlds best boss” mug. We ended up getting a few things of which most went with my husband to work but I am now the proud owner of a Dwight Shrute Memo Pad. Silly….yes, but I love it!

I wish that this is was the only show I was excited about but my TiVo is going to be running on overdrive with how many shows I scheduled it to record next week! Now, don’t be fooled that I only like smart writing on shows like The Office. I also have a deep and embarrassing love for crappy and indulgent reality TV. America’s next top model, design star, food network star, dancing with the stars, have  I embarrassed myself enough yet?

So what is on your fall tv that you are excited about? I can’t be the only one embarrassed of my tivo lineup?

A few months back if I asked Alaina to say “cheese” for the camera it was met with groaning and the hiding of her face or falling to the ground or my personal favorite her quest for an olympic medal with her sprint out of reach of my lens and I. But, one day she humored me little bit and cracked a small smile, so I pushed my luck and asked her for a big cheese. Who would of though that would set her off into the world of modeling. Now anytime I take my camera out she is hamming it up saying “Mom, get my big cheese” followed by, “Mom I have a bigger cheese”, Lastly, she gives me her biggest cheese and then asks for a snack. Of course I oblige because I can’t ignore such a pretty and polite begger!

I hope each of your labor day holidays is filled with big cheesy smiles!

I love how I can check to see what people searched for to stumble upon the blog. Today 2 people have searched for “little pixie stripper” Um, you won’t find such a thing here! You will however find some discussion about a “little” more about me, a link for the portabello “pixie” and the only “stripper” discussion deals with quilting! I do hope that during your visit that you embrace your inner crafer and try one of the tutorials or click on some of the other crafty links! But, sadly for you I don’t think I will ever have that specific word combo in the context that you were looking for! But, if you want a mean glass magnet or a twirly skirt….then I am definitately your blog to read!
