Some people think the milestones are just for things like the first tooth and the first steps, but at the Moore household out milestone this week was the first nap in the crib. It may seem silly, but the princess never spent a single night in her crib. It was her swing, a most an hour at a time in her bassinet, but it was mostly in our arms or in our bed. Cosleeping worked for us and she now sleeps in her own bed in her own room just fine, but with the new little guy we didn’t want to get into the cosleeping habit. However, the plan didn’t go that well and Sam would start out in the pack and play and still end up in bed with us, which I really don’t mind because I love the extra snuggles. But, he is a much better sleeper than she ever was so I don’t have a good reason to not put him in his crib. We tried today and there was no tears and he napped in their just fine. I know it sounds silly but I loved having my kids right next to me, it was great for nursing and we all slept better but if is sleeping through the night then I need to give the crib a go!

Oh my! I don’t think that I can stay in denial that my babies are not getting bigger. The princess has recently become obsessed with weddings. We went to a wedding days before the prince was born and since then she is adamant that she is having a baby soon and when I told he that she had to get married first she started planning her wedding. Her poor future groom, she is already a baby bridezilla! But, I will give her this, she makes a beautiful little bride. That is actually my veil from my wedding. I don’t feel to bad letting her play with it because I bought it for $15 on ebay back in the day! Oh…and craft alert…..I actually made the flowers! She has been asking for wedding flowers and I have been dying to work on something crafty that won’t wake up the prince when he naps and made these tissue paper carnations. They are pretty addictive once you start them!

And because I can’t leave him out here is the little man update. At 5 weeks he is sleeping 5-6 hour stretches at night which is great for all of us! Last week he started rolling from belly to back. I thought it was a fluke but he flips within seconds of being on his belly. Here is a rare shot of him on his belly and holding up his head. Time is flying.
