This was drawn by one of my kids at church. I hope you all have a blessed Easter!

I was tagged twice in the last week by Sullivan Sitcom and Kara to share seven random facts about myself. Which, is a stretch for me since I just completed my list of 28 a few weeks back. But, I am always up for the challenge and hope that this new batch of randomness isn’t too strange for you!

  • My feet are always cold. Especially my toes. It is the running joke at night with the hubster that I can’t stand when his feet touching me and he hates when I try and warm up my feet up on his legs. But, I can’t wear socks when I sleep so I have gone so far as to crochet myself a toe sock but it fell off in the night so the cold toe dilemma continues on.
  • I am fascinated by the show “Cities of the Underworld” on the History Channel. It never ceases to amaze me what secrets we could be walking on at any given time.
  • Much to my public declarations of my hatred of the clog style crocs, the first time that I tried on my mammoth crocs, I was in love. If loving them is wrong, I don’t want to be right.
  • I love pajamas. Especially flannel pants. They get better with every wash and I own 29 pairs of them. I change into my pj’s usually within minutes of getting home. I choose comfort over style at home any day of the week.
  • I don’t mind cleaning our toilets but scrubbing bathtubs and showers gross me out.
  • It has taken me 32 minutes to come up with 6 random facts that I haven’t already shared and contemplating trying to find a seventh is making me feel incredibly uninteresting.

the princess: “Mommy, I’m hungry”

Me: “Would you like yogurt?”

the princess: “You got me yogurt!!!! Thank you Mommy, Thank you! I love you”

Me: “I love you, too!”

the princess: “You are amazing”

Me: “Thank you, baby”

the princess: “Mommy, you are so wonderful, I love yogurt”

I am professing my love of bloglines and kicking myself for not jumping on board earlier. I can’t believe how much blog love I was missing out on!

To remember my laptop. It has gone to a better place to be spend the rest of eternity on sleep mode. New posts will be back when I find my Photoshop box so find the serial number to install it on this computer. But, you can use your imagination to see the princess in a mama made St. Pattys day dress and shamrock bow sending a great big irish kiss!

The snow is quickly melting but we have still been in homebody mode. I have baked up a storm in the past few days. It started with birthday cake and normally that would satisfy my sweet tooth. But, I wanted to bake and last night my eyes fell upon our bananas that were quickly getting mushy and lightbulbs were going off in my head. I really couldn’t wait to get home from church this afternoon so that I could get to baking. The princess had pushed her chair to watch me bake and wanted to help. The recipe called for egg which is a no go for Alaina and so I decided to try the egg free replacement that my friend so sweetly sent me last year. This allowed the princess to get in on the action and she turned out to be quite the culinary expert in mixing and mashing bananas. She even added her own special ingrediant.

An hour later we had a warm and gooey chocolate chip banana bread. In the words of the annoying Dora….Delicioso!

Oven is still preheated for the chocolate chip cookies that the dear husband requested. I may need a baking recovery group if this continues all week.

and in case that didn’t give you a good idea of much that is I took, I took a pole and a put it in the middle of this mound of snow and measured it and the tally as of 11:45 am and after 28 hours of snow we now have…..drumroll please….

Not exactly how I planned spending my birthday but definitely memorable! Thankfully we have groceries and my work was cancelled for this evening so we are home for the night. Join me later for a family game night and a piece of my birthday cake, german chocolate, YUM!

To celebrate my 28th birthday I have complied 28 random facts about myself that will hopefully not scare you all off!

My apologies if the numbers aren’t in order. I am not dyslexic but they are showing fine on edit screen but not on the final draft. But, trust me there is 28!

  1. I don’t have a favorite color. Too many wonderful hues to choose just one.
  2. I can’t live without Diet Coke. Seriously.
  3. I have to have a scented fabric softener. If I can’t smell the clean it just doesn’t feel clean to me.
  4. I hate wearing sunglasses because it make me think that my ears are uneven because glasses always sit crooked on my face no matter the style.
  5. Embarrassingly, I don’t hate Yo Gabba Gabba. My name is Stephanie, I like to dance. If you don’t have a toddler and haven’t seen this show skip to the next one or you will think I have officially lost it.
  6. I have no arches in my feet.
  7. I collect Willowtree Angels
  8. I have a shelf full of fabric I bought that I know I will never cut into because it is too pretty and I don’t want to mess it up. I would rather let it sit there and inspire me.
  9. My whole life I have wanted a chaise lounge and now that I have one I never sit in it.
  10. I crack my knuckles and my knees.
  11.  50 lbs and many years ago I used to be on a competitive dance team.
  12.  I don’t get the whole Myspace/Facebook phenomenon and I don’t even have the desire to figure it out. I did set up an account to search for a few old friends, but apparently they couldn’t get into it either since I couldn’t find any of them. However, I did find out that my cousin is lying about her age on it so I guess I need to keep my account active to keep an eye on that.
  13. We have been trying to have another baby for longer than I care to realize. I am incredibly blessed by the princess but I hope to add a sibling for her to our happy little family.
  14. I took guitar lessons when I was in middle school, sadly the only song that I have memorized when I pick up a guitar is “Dust in the Wind”
  15. I have always wanted a tattoo, but I am a total wuss and would never get one.
  16. I did have a moment of rebellion and got my belly button pierced when I was a teenager. I took it out when I got pregnant and ended up with stretch marks in the shape of an X over the hole. I think that was my punishment for sneaking off to do that without my parents permission.
  17. My favorite ice cream is Edys/Dreyers Slow Churned Chocolate Ice cream. I am a total ice cream snob with this one. Can never go back to generic ice cream again!
  18. I don’t post about half of the crafty projects I do because I am too intimidated by the how amazing some of the masters of craft are and feel mine just pale in comparison.
  19. I made and sold hair bows and tutus for a year and that allowed to stay home with the princess for a year when I was unexpectedly laid off. However, I made so many that I developed an aversion to tulle. If I ever work with it again it will be too soon.
  20. I love to read but my time to read is slowly being replaced by my love of blogs. Darn those bloglists that keep me clicking!
  21. I have a secret desire to be on What’s not to Wear. I seriously need their help as I don’t think my favorite t shirt in ever color as being stylish. Other than my hot mamas shoes. Now, those are hot.
  22. My grandpa was an amazing artist and could draw and paint anything and I am so disappointed that I didn’t inherit any of his talents.
  23. I am scared of losing weight even though I definitely need to. I have done some pretty disastrous and unhealthy things to my body to lose weight and now that I don’t know how to lose weight without getting carried away with it so I have been avoiding it.
  24. My mom named me after a girl that used to beat her up and steal her lunch. My mom said she always felt bad for her and ended up packing up two lunches so Stephanie wouldn’t beat her up. She said she always saw something good in her despite her being mean. I don’t know what she expected me to end up as given the names history but I hope I have proved to have something good in me despite my flaws as well.
  25. In the age old dessert battle of cake vs. pie. I would have to side with my Dad and choose pie. Click for my decadent apple pie recipe!
  26. I have always been nervous about getting my hair cut and now that I found a great stylist I am itching to get my hair cut all the time. Shout out to Tammi in the words of Sharpay…you are FABULOUS! (yes, I work with kids all the time so I often have to speak in High School Musical speak and embarrassingly here as well I didn’t hate watching that either!)
  27. I have always round up on my age so turning 28 doesn’t feel like a big deal since I have said I was 28 for the last year.
  28. I have April 10 marked on my calendar for one reason. The return of The Office

first-sled-ride.jpg

Coming off of my three day headache, I think I was the only one in the area who didn’t realize we were getting a huge blizzard snow storm. I grew up in Utah so a foot of powdery snow was pretty normal throughout the winter but here in Kentucky snow is almost always accompanied by ice and freezing rain. But today we have eight inches out of a predicted foot and it shows no signs of stopping tonight. This is actually the first great snow to play in since Alaina has been old enough to go out and play in it. We have taken her out in the her sled before but today was the first time she went down a hill by herself. Doesn’t she look proud? The mom behind the lens was beaming with pride too!

I decided to take advantage of the first nice day of the year. It hit a long awaited 60 degrees here in Kentucky on Monday and although the wind was whipping around I decided to haul myself to the garage and clean it out. With trash day approaching on Wednesday and my dear husband working so hard I thought I would do the one job that neither of us looks forward to, cleaning out the garage. Things were going well in my garage clean up and I had all of the tools put away and shovels hung until I was trying to close a stroller (not the one picture above that one I had no trouble with!) that hadn’t been used in a year and it didn’t want to close and in my fury trying to squeeze the darn red button and collapse it at the same time and not being the least bit successful, I tried to lean on the wall to give myself some leverage. If you are wondering why I took a picture of shovels, this is where these *cough cough* lovely characters come into play. I somehow leaned myself into the one of the shovels propelling several of them off of the wall and having them literally plummet down on the back of my head. Yes, I used them as in plural. The plastic one came first and as ducked down to get it I somehow had then the second one came down on me, but this one clocked me hard. I have a giant knot on my head and I am now on day 3 of an awful headache as a result of my unwanted dance with the shovels. However, the husband who is still dear to me didn’t even notice my efforts in the garage but he did do his best to nurse my headache.
