Dear Hubby,

It is the morning after and although I am still upset by the events of last evening, I am going to forgive you. I don’t know how could you torture me like that and then to expect me to have no response and to get over it immediately? But, after many thoughts today about this humiliating experience I have come to the conclusion that we should never play Monopoly again. It is apparent that my competitve nature can not withstand such a whooping on this formerly beloved board game. I am hanging up my thimble for real this time. We must find a new game that doesn’t bring out the hostile competitor in me.

Sincerlely,

Your wife :)

I just put my sweet daughter to bed for the night and just breathed in the scent of her freshly washed hair as I laid next to her as she drifted to sleep. I remember the day I found out I was pregnant with her I had taken the test and rocked relentlessly in my chair for the 2 minutes it would take for the test to work. I wanted time to go so fast.  Throughout her time inside me I lovingly patted my belly counting the days until she would join our family. Fast forward to this evening in which I gaze at my sleeping daughter who is  just shy of turning four and wish for time to slow down so that I may enjoy this age and time with her. She adds so much joy to my life and seeing the world through her eyes has exposed me to so much that I was taking for granted.  Who knew that in parenting her that I would take away more lessons from my daughter, the littlest teacher.  Thanks for indulging this sappy mommy moment. I would take a picture of her but I don’t want to wake her so I will share two of my favorite pictures of the little princess sleeping.

(notice her tiny tiara….sleeping princess, indeed)

That describes how life has been for us this past month in which I have neglected you all!  2007 came and as a family we are looking forward to an exciting 2008. We started a remodeling project in our home in which a $40 Home Depot gift card inspired my dear husband to finish off our basement. He promises to work on it as we can afford it, so I am watching him try to stretch our budget. I do have to give him his credit due, as he has an idea and he is determined to make it work. So, stay tuned for updates for our little project. Our garage is full of studs so by next week he should have his little dream all framed in.

Alaina is always a source of entertainment and her budding craftiness excites me! She saw my pile of felt and asked to make a pizza so we cut out a circle for the crust and cut out toppings and she went to town. Have you ever seen a prouder pretend chef?

The felt food excitement didn’t stop there when she brought me out a round box and said lets make cake. So, I got out my glue gun and covered it with felt and cut out shapes for her to decorate her cake with. The “cake” still opens which makes a great place to store all of the new felt food. A creative toy that basically cleans itself, a mama couldn’t be happier!
